Midwest Democracy Network partner organization, the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign recently released a report detailing spending by interest groups and the two candidates for April’s state Supreme Court race.

According to a WDC press release issued July 21, spending by outside smear groups and the two candidates in April’s Wisconsin Supreme Court race topped $2.1 million, with incumbent and winner Sarah Abrahamson spending $1.37 million and her opponent Jefferson County Circuit Judge Randy Koschnick spending $189,122. The $1.47 million that Abrahamson raised was a record for a candidate seeking a position on Wisconsin’s highest court and of that money, Abrahamson only contributed $77,000 out of her own pocket. More details on the the WDC’s findings can be found by visiting the group’s Hijacking Campaign 2009 webpage.
