Redistricting reform on the horizon

The Charter Commission, with the push of Common Cause Minnesota and the League of Women Voters Minnesota, began work on a possible redistricting referendum proposal on June 2. The current city charter assisgns the position to a redistricting commission.
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the commission moved to form a panel to begin drafting a proposal for consideration at its June 23 and July 7 meetings. It acted after being encouraged by 10 of 13 City Council members to oversee redistricting.
