The Newseum and First Amendment Center launched the “1 for All” campaign  yesterday in support of First Amendment freedoms.

The nonpartisan campaign consists of journalists, educators, lawyers, librarians,  artists and others who believe the freedom of speech, press and faith should unify the country.

“For all the poetic flourish of the Declaration of Independence, the most powerful passage in America’s history can be found in the First Amendment to the Constitution,” wrote Newseum President and Chief   Operating Officer Ken Paulson.” The five freedoms guaranteed there gave Americans the right to speak out against injustice, to report about inequality, to protest and petition, and to draw strength from freedom of faith.

And in order to increase education, 1 for All uses an interactive campaign that encourages students and others to submit photos, songs, videos and stories that reflect the First Amendment in America.
